Concrete Structures have a nite life and are very much dependent on quality of design and quality of workmanship. Deterioration of concrete is generally caused by the action of carbonation and chloride / sulphur attack of the structure.

The deterioration is not always visible and when it is visible this is generally only the tip of the damage. Left untreated, these tips will soon become an expansive and expensive problem.

Inspections and analysis of the reason for damage is very important so as to determine the method of rectication.

WGE have the personnel and expertise to carry out inspections and accurately analyse problems and subsequently expedite the appropriate method of repair. Correctly repaired concrete elements will enhance the longevity of the structure.

Concrete repairs can be Repair physical damage (to expansion joints, impact etc), concrete de-lamination and spalling crack injection or re-inforcement repair

Strengthening of structures is generally carried out where existing concrete support structures are not adequate to carry the additional loads of extensions to existing structures. This work requires design, product and construction expertise in order to determine methodologies and type of strengthening applications.

The strengthening applications can be by way of concrete encasing, sprayed encasing, carbon fibre or plate.

Facade, by nature of their locality to extend weather elements are the earliest point of a building which suffers early deterioration thus compromising the longevity and structural integrity of the buildings. Defects of facades can be difficult to access, analyse and repair.

The types of work included are spalling of facade surfaces, lintel rehabilitation / replacement, re-pointing brickwork joints, crack repair and heritage wall straightening

WGE can provide water-proofing admixture mixed right into your concrete to cover structures such as, blind walls, elevator and service pits, raft slabs, parking enclosures, roof slabs, Foundations, water reservoirs and tanked structures.

Construction joint waterstop systems are also available and incorporated during insitu concrete structure pours.
