WGE Group has a specific Security Management Function at Corporate level, led by the Corporate Security manager, and a number of business security units in several areas of activities, whose task is to ensure the effectiveness of the operational security effort and guarantee a rapid response to personnel security requirements.
The Security Function is responsible for preparing strategies and policies based on the Corporate Security Policies, constant analysis of risks, preparation of prevention plans and monitoring of exposure related to the geo-political scenarios in the areas where the Company works. They are also in charge of defining initiatives to manage security risks and crises, in cooperation with local institutions and security forces, and identifying the best security criteria for information systems, telecommunication networks and protection for company information and assets.
In countries where risk levels are particularly high, WGE Group has decided to introduce also the position of Group Security Coordinator, reporting to the Security Corporate Manager, responsible for supervising and coordinating security activities at a local level.
WGE Group's guidelines on Security activities are based on the principle of respect for human rights.
The security strategy adopted by WGE Group Corporate also focuses on prevention of hazardous and risky situation. For this purpose, WGE Group has introduced a Golden Rule for commercial activities which requires a compulsory economic evaluation of local security risks since the contract negotiation stage
